Not only did we have phenomenal Visiting Nurses (Mary Ellen Newman & Joy Box), Help Me Grow as a whole had so many resources/avenues available to get in touch with. I have twins w/autism and Help Me Grow was the first organization to get the ball rolling to help my girls. I was somewhat lost until I got in touch with them! "Being in "Help Me Grow" has truly helped our twin boys. They had speech delays, physical challenges, and texture issues. Our "Help Me Grow" coordinator, who is a Health Department nurse, really did a lot for our family, helping us obtain the services we needed for our boys (speech, PT, OT, Early Intervention). When the in-home speech therapy ended, she searched for a solution that would fit our needs. During the interim, she connected us with a wonderful music therapist and an Early Intervention Speech Therapist. Finally, we were connected with Easter Seals for their speech therapy at the age of two and a half and were able to stay with the same therapist until they graduated from speech shortly before they turned six. Also, being connected to the Parents of Multiples Support Group has been a great help! With Teresa Prihoda, as the Family Support Specialist of the group, and all the moms to relate to and to share with, we feel like we are not alone in our experiences. All the people involved in helping our twins were and are wonderful and a necessary part of the puzzle in shaping their lives to make it possible for them to start school ready to learn! Without any of these people - our "Help Me Grow" coordinator (Health Department nurse), speech therapists, physical therapist, occupational therapists, Early Intervention Specialists, Music Therapist, Family Support Specialist - pieces of the puzzle would have been missing and the outcome may not have been so positive!"

"I cannot say enough good things about Help Me Grow. As a new parent, it was wonderful to have a nurse visit the house and review some things with me that would be helpful for my new baby. I still remember the ideas and suggestions that the visiting nurse gave me. As a new parent with a child with special needs, I found Help Me Grow to be an invaluable resource for me to provide the very best care for my child. In the beginning, the representatives from Help Me Grow helped me navigate what I should be doing with my child and what resources were out there to help. Almost 2 years later I still rely on Help Me Grow to steer me in the right direction with my son's development, and he is doing wonderfully with their help and encouragement. I can honestly say that we would not be where we are without Help Me Grow and all the services that have been provided."
