Lorain County Children & Family Council
The Lorain County Children and Families First Council Advisory Board is comprised of both state-mandated members and community members. Council Advisory Board meets three times annually. Meetings are held at the Lorain County Administration Building (226 Middle Ave., Elyria, OH 44035), on the Fourth Floor, Meeting Room A.

BOARD SUBCOMMITTEES
All committee decisions are approved by Council Board.
• Executive Committee is comprised of the Council Chair, Vice-Chair, and Secretary. This committee is ratified though the bi-laws of council and is charged with Council oversight and are empowered to make decisions on behalf of Council.
• Core Planning Committee is comprised of six mandated members. This committee is responsible for on-going planning of Council initiatives and assists in selecting contracted service providers. This committee is a mandated committee through House Bill 289 Planning which calls for the development, implementation, and monitoring of goals and objectives for Councils in each County.
• Early Childhood Coordinating Committee is comprised of mandated members and/ or agency representatives and HMG parents. This committee is charged with assisting Council in the design, coordination and implementation of HMG program components. The committee also works in addressing other county-specific early childhood issues of Lorain County families.
• Family Support Committee is comprised of Parent Representatives of the Council Board and additional Parents who have been identified to have a sincere interest in family preservation, engagement and empowerment through advocacy and networking.
