PREVENT CHILD ABUSE LORAIN COUNTY

The Lorain County Children and Families Council will be hosting a special meeting for community partners to discuss, coordinate, and plan Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Events for the month of April, National Child Abuse Awareness Month. We are inviting you or a representative from you agency to attend this meeting.
Please feel free to distribute the Prevent Child Abuse Lorain County Flyer to friends, co-workers and/or staff that may have an interest in attending and getting in involved to prevent child maltreatment in Lorain County. We encourage your attendance.

BI-ANNUAL H.M.G. FAMILY CELEBRATION
Friday, November 13, 2009 • 4:00 – 6:00 pm
Event Venue: Murray Ridge Center
 The Help Me Grow Family Celebration is held semi-annually. The next event will be held in May 2010. The event gives Help Me Grow families the opportunity to interact while also providing an environment for positive learning and play between the child and the parent. This event hosted representatives from Lorain and Elyria Public Libraries for reading circles, LCT Buster Bunny, and the Ohio State Extension Office displayed healthy eating tips and recipes.
 There were also face painting and pumpkin craft tables along with corn hole toss. Diamaris Rosario was on hand to help children at the pumpkin craft tables. Diamaris serves as a Committee Member of the Family and Children First Council (FCFC) Early Childhood Coordinating Committee and is a Help Me Grow (HMG) Volunteer.
